SHIMMER REVERB
The digital shimmer reverb has been developed by Luca Romanelli from Mastro Valvola and is the first effect in the internal signal chain of the pedal. It provides all that every musician usually expects from this type of effects: a very deep atmospheric sound with a long/infinite decay + a dreamy character provided by other octaves sounding in addition to the one currently played by the musical instrument involved.
As external controls, the shimmer reverb’s side of the RESPIRA offers the following...

MIX
Basically a dry/wet control. The user can easily decide how much reverberated signal has to be noticed, starting from no reverb at all by setting the knob fully counterclockwise (and that’s the most obvious setting in case the user would prefer to play the tremolo side only) to a 100% wet signal by turning the knob in the opposite direction (clockwise).
DECAY
Turning it counterclockwise, the reverb tail becomes shorter until disappearing (when the knob is fully closed). While turning it clockwise, the decay becomes longer and longer until transforming the signal in an infinite ambient soundscape.
About the other two octaves provided (-1 and +1), those are both premixed from the factory in order to offer the best balance for every musical instrument plugged into the RESPIRA. Anyway, if the user wants to experiment and try different sound flavors, the two relative internal trimmers can be easily tweaked and adjusted (always by keeping in mind the obvious counterclockwise/clockwise working method).
About the other two octaves provided (-1 and +1), those are both premixed from the factory in order to offer the best balance for every musical instrument plugged into the RESPIRA. MULTIMODE LFO TREMOLO
The brain of the RESPIRA’s tremolo consists in 16 different wave shapes splitted in two sets of 8. Once selected one of these two sets by the toggle switch placed in the middle, the central 8 positions rotary switch allows to choose the exacted wave shape that the user wants to play with.
About the time control possibility, the RESPIRA provides the speed rate, the multipliers subdivision and the tap tempo control. The speed rate can be adjustable by tweaking the RATE knob: turning it counterclockwise the rate will be slower, while the speed will increase by turning the knob clockwise. The TAP TEMPO switch is related to the multiplier previously selected by the 4 positions rotary switch on the left. In fact, the user can choose up to 4 different subdivisions: = x1 (1/4 note, crotchet) = x2 (1/8th, quaver) = x3 (triplet 1/8th note, triplet quaver) = x4 (1/16th note, semiquaver).
A truly special and pretty unique feature provided by the RESPIRA is the possibility to choose up to 4 tremolo modes by rotating the 4 positions switch on the right: M, H, B, T.

MASTER (M)
The standard optical tremolo which acts on the master volume of your signal. Pulsing, deep and side chain-like. Just perfect for basically every music genere which often requires strong rhythmic events.
HARMONIC (H)
That type of tremolo which acts between bass and treble because its out of phase action. Smoother than the master mode and incredibly useful when needing a rhythmic event with a gently modulated flavor.
BASS (B)
The tremolo acts on bass frequencies only. Created for that kind of arrangements with a sequenced/pulsing bass line and free lead phrases above.
TREBLE (T)
Obviously the opposite of the bass mode. Tremolo acts on treble frequencies only, so it allows to create sequenced phrases or arpeggios above a drone-like bass line.
The tremolo part of the RESPIRA also presents the most obvious and absolutely necessary control of the depth (DEPTH knob). The user can turn off the tremolo and playing just with the shimmer reverb side of the RESPIRA just by rotating the DEPTH knob fully counterclockwise. When going in the opposite direction (clockwise) the tremolo’s depth will act deeper. Also, considering both the shimmer reverb in front of the tremolo and how much we love to increase the climax while playing, we decided to add an expression input to adjust the DEPTH with an expression pedal (10k value recommended) so it’s possible having fun by making the two effects dialogue constantly.

SYMMETRY
This is a sort of secret weapon that can be crucial in terms of wave shape sculpting. In fact, with this parameter, the user can change the symmetry of the previously selected wave shape. Tweaking the SYMMETRY knob it’s possible to decide where the wave shape must intervene: attack (counterclockwise) or release (clockwise). User can obtain a perfect wave shape symmetry (50%-50%) by leaving the knob at 12 o’clock.
TONE
Not a very common control for a tremolo, but it's a very useful one (especially for the RESPIRA). It works as a standard tone shaping tool when using the tremolo in MASTER (M) or in HARMONIC (H) mode, while it works more like a blender between frequencies when using the tremolo in BASS (B) or TREBLE (T) mode. That means that the user can decide how much noticeable must be the sound portion actually effected by the tremolo.

The user can adjust the output level by rotating the dedicated internal trimmer. Anyway, the RESPIRA’s circuit is very sensitive to the output level because the optocouplers involved, so a “clicking” noise can be noticed when using the tremolo with a strong depth setting and too much high output, and that’s why we highly suggest to leave the trimmer as it comes from the factory.
SHIMMER: Every Respira comes set with the Shimer low octave at 50% and the Shimmer High octave at 40%. Both are adjustable from 100% to Zero.

THE favorite toy

I found this toy used at a thrift store almost 1 year ago. My Shih tzu mix loved it so much till all the seams ripped out and 2 out of 3 squeekers fell out and it was shambles, hardly usable at all. 1 week ago I decided to try my luck to find a similar shark toy for Finnegan. I couldn't believe my eyes when I found THE EXACT same toy!! When I unboxed it, I put the old and new side-by-side and imagine his surprise, it was priceless! Very pleased with this.

Best Dog Toy Ever!

Unbelievable. See below previous reviews. Today is 3/22/2023 (4th Update): Cavachon is now three years old. THIS MONKEY is STILL played with DAILY. She’s played with and lost interest in dozens of other toys in the past three years, but Monkey is always the go-to. Now only on Monkey #6, which is remarkable considering the daily torture she puts Monkey through. Other toys get destroyed, but Monkey endures. This toy is our dog’s best friend and playmate!
10/9/21 (3rd update): Its rare that any toy (without food inside) keeps the interest of our Cavachon for even 30 minutes… yet day after day, she runs around with Monkey for at least an hour. She’s on her 4th Monkey… and this thing gets mauled, chewed, super-squeaked, fetched, and shook violently EVERY DAY. Durability times ten!
2/21/21 (2nd Update): Crazy pup is now 14 months old, and she plays DAILY with “monkey”! She’s on her third monkey because eventually she pulls off the tail, but each of her first two lasted months.
ORIGINAL REVIEW MAY 2020: There is something really special about this monkey... Our 5-month-old Cavachon LOVES this toy. I recently ordered a second one, in case she wears out the first one. She knows it’s her “monkey” and finds it when we ask her “Where’s monkey?” She fetches it, walks around squeaking it, and she also zooms around the house shaking it furiously by the tail. She’s been playing with, and chewing on all parts of It, DAILY for three months. In the photo, you can compare the brand-new one, still on the cardboard, with the one she’s mauled for three months. Not much difference. I would say this is an extremely durable, and safe, toy.

Nice design, pay attention to the size specification

Nice toy with minimal appendages - meaning that body parts are not quickly chewed off. I made the mistake of getting this one along with one for the Large dog. This monkey is intended to be a small dog toy and as soon as I felt it, I knew my English Shepherd of 8 months would probably have it torn up within a day or two.
I really like the design - no ropes or braids or legs, no small pieces for the eyes, etc. The monkey does have a small curly-Q tail but so far it's stayed attached to the monkey. It's durability has surprised me so far.
For years I have had a Jack Russell terrier, which I think might be considered a small/medium dog (at least mine was). This toy would have lasted him weeks or even months, he didn't set out to eat his toys. Now I have an English Shepherd and I forget that she's probably considered a large dog. She rarely chews up anything EXCEPT her toys, but when she gets a new toy, she spends hours "getting to know it" and she's got pretty sharp teeth.
The fabric on this toy is durable, not easily torn. Because there is no stuffing the squeaker is easy for the dog to squeak - and if your dog hasn't had squeaky toys before, that might freak them out just a little, it did my dog, she started off apprehensive of the toy but quickly grew to enjoy it.
Because this toy is hollow and not dense, my dog doesn't chew on it the same way as she did her rope-style toy, and therefore this toy has lasted longer than the KONG Pudge Braidz Pig Dog Toy, Medium/Large toy (which lasted about 10 minutes). Someone else here posted some good pictures of their larger sized dog with this toy, and that dog looks to be about the same size as mine. That person stated the toy didn't last long and showed pictures of how it looked after being dismantled. I expect that to happen to this one since that dog's size is similar to mine, although it's lasted so far more than a day. I guess it partially depends on not just the toy but the dog, too. Because there's no density to this toy, my dog doesn't seem to want to chew it like she does a bone, instead she tosses and wrestles it, occasionally making it squeak, then lies down next to it and takes a nap.
All in all, this is so far, my favorite dog toy brand. It's less dangerous than the Kong toys or the Nylabone toys, and especially less dangerous than the rope style toys. I purchased several other Petstages toys and so far, they have lasted longer than any other brand, including those named. I just should have been more attentive to the recommended dog size, as this toy is clearly not ideal for large dogs. The Petstages Gator toy is better for a large dog. I have also purchased that one and find it much more suitable.

Could be made much stronger & better

Only 3 stars because the long fur is nasty and dogs chew it and it comes off … choking hazard. I trim it when I get them. The fabric is to easily tear doednt last long they should make this much stronger. I’ve bought 4 of these and about to buy 2 more my dogs love them.
